Second in command of the Jalisco New Generation cartel taken to prison

'El Tanque' is in a prison in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.

Víctor Hugo Delgado Rentería, also known as Iván Cazarín Molina and "El Tanque," the alleged second in command of the Jalisco New Generation cartel, has been taken to a federal prison in Ciudad Juárez, along three accomplices.

Delgado Rentería, recently captured by the Federal Police, was put under the authority of the Office of the Attorney General and is facing charges for drugs and possession of military grade weapons.

After six months of intelligence work, the authorities were able to locate and arrest the suspect in the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zuñiga.

It is presumed that "El Tanque" is related to the attack against a military helicopter on May 1 in the municipality of Villa Purificación, and had operations in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, where he laundered resources obtained from illegal activities.

According to investigations, "El Tanque" and his accomplices were also engaged in the distribution of drugs, extortion, theft of fuel and several killings.

Along Delgado Rentería, the authorities arrested Marco Antonio Rocha García, Rafael Ortega Aquino and Yahir Martínez Mora.
