According to the Mexico's Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), the Tropical Depression 21-E is expected to strengthen to Tropical Storm Rick in the coming days.

The newly-formed system is located about 748 km (465 miles) south-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico.

It is slow crawling north, and it is expected to turn northwest, then west over the next few days, remaining far removed from the Mexican coast and, thus, no threat to land.

However, this weather phenomenon could affect the coast of Michoacán and Guerrero.
