The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) has suspended the environmental pre-contingency for high levels of ozone in the Valley of Mexico.
In a press release, the CAMe reported the weakening of a high pressure system favoring the development of a cloud cover over the city, as well as wind flow on the surface and atmospheric instability in general, which presents a favorable situation for the dispersion of the pollution and ozone depletion in most of Mexico City.
The CAMe also reported that the ozone season concludes in June, and there are conditions that favor clear skies, low humidity and intense radiation which are currently generating high levels of the pollutant.
In addition, the CAMe called the population to be informed about the air quality over the Valley of Mexico, which encompasses Mexico City and the State of Mexico, through its website (air.df.gob.mx/default.php) or through the AIR application for Android and IOS.
