Leader of Guerreros Unidos sent to prison

The Office of the Attorney General (PGR) had Adán Zenén Casarrubias Salgado, "El Tomate," sent to prison for the crime of possession of military grade weapons, along two presumed accomplices.

The three have been identified as members of the Guerreros Unidos cartel, which operates in the municipalities of the "Tierra Caliente" area in the state of Guerrero.

The trio has been sent to a federal prison in the municipality of Hermosillo, Sonora.

The other two are Armando Cuevas Padilla and Armando Cuevas Nava, who were also arrested last Thursday during a raid by the Army and the Federal Police in the state of Morelos.

During the operation, the officers also arrested Erik Ulises Ramírez Crespo, mayor of Cocula, in Guerrero, who is still being questioned by the authorities, which have yet to determine his legal situation.
