Since the escape of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán in July 2015 from the maximum security prison El Altiplano, Mexican authorities have seized 11 small planes used by the Sinaloa cartel, as well as properties, drugs, trucks and weapons in three states: State of Mexico, Puebla and Sinaloa.
In coordination with Mexico's Navy and Federal Police, the Attorney General's Office (PGR) seized the property where the tunnel that El Chapo used to escape ended.
Five days after his escape, authorities seized a property, a gun, three magazines and 59 cartridges in Almoloya de Juárez.
On August 28, authorities seized two properties, a handgun, a truck, two motorcycles, an ATV and various documents in the State of Mexico and Puebla.
On September 11 and 12, authorities seized a property, a runway, a mobile phone, a truck, ten small planes, two airframes, two aircraft engines and documents in Culiacán and Navolato.
On October 20 authorities seized 165 drug packages containing cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana, plus a gun and a granade at Las Quintas neighborhood in Culiacán.
One day later, at Plutarco Elías Calles neighborhood, also in Culiacán, authorities seized 288 drug packages, a small plane and a firearm. Another property was seized the next day at Estanza Toscana residential complex in the same city.
