Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto expressed his confidence in the relaunch of the security strategy for the state of Guerrero and said that it will return peace and tranquility to its population.
The re-launch announcement was made by the Minister of the Interior, Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, and the governor of Guerrero, Héctor Astudillo, who took the post today.
"Starting from a new scheme of co-responsibility, I ordered the Security Cabinet to strengthen the Security Strategy in Guerrero," expressed the President on Twitter.
Peña Nieto said: "with the commitment of governor Hector Astudillo and the support of the government, we will return tranquility and development to Guerrero".
In the morning, also on Twitter, Peña Nieto congratulated Astudillo and reiterated his commitment to the state of Guerrero.
Osorio Chong announced a specialized unit against kidnapping that will operate in the port city of Acapulco starting tomorrow.
