Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto pointed out at the massive damage that hurricane Patricia can cause in the country since it surpasses all previously known categorizations.

Peña Nieto expressed during an interview with Joaquín López Dóriga that "all the hurricanes that we have known in the past have not exceeded 186 miles per hour," but Patricia exceeds 200 and "if hurricane category six existed, this would be a category 6".

Peña Nieto also expressed that Patricia "is a hurricane that will bring heavy rain, very strong storm surges and tornadoes."

"We are going to live through difficult times. We are being faced with a phenomenon never before seen, but we have already deployed staff from all areas of Civil Protection and deployed all units trained to deal with this phenomenon," said Peña Nieto.
