Rodolfo Vilchis will receive a hard sanction from Guadalajara soccer club Zorros Atlas, after trying to escape the police while driving under the influence of alcohol.

On Monday, the team announced that the player had been removed from its cadre for an indefinite time and will pay a severe fine for infringing the internal regulations of the institution.

“After the events which happened last Sunday morning of October 11, on which our player Rodolfo Vilchis Cruz turned out to be involved, Atlas F.C. reports that it has decided to separate him from its first division cadre starting today and for an indefinite time," reported the team.

Last Sunday dawn, the soccer player was detained in Guadalajara at a police blockade, and after an initial test determined that he was drunk he was ordered to allow himself to be subjected to a second one.

It was then when Vilchis tried to escape from the police, but was caught and taken to a detention center.

The Zorros are particularly annoyed for the fact that Vilchis tried to evade his responsibility in the incident, writing on his Twitter account that he was in his home while he was really at the detention center.
