After the assassination attempt against the former governor Fernando Moreno Peña, the government of Colima activated a red alert in coordination with the federal security units, in search of those responsible of the attack.
The state coordinator of Public Security, Félix Vuelvas, expressed that the authorities are looking for the attackers.
He added that per request of Governor Mario Anguiano Moreno, there is an exchange of information and coordination with the federal authorities.
Moreno Peña is out of danger, as Vuelvas expressed in a radio interview, after being shot four times.
According to his medical report, the wound former governor sustained in the neck was the worst of them all.
The governor was attacked by two men who entered the restaurant where Moreno Peña was having breakfast, according to security videos.
Moreno Peña was having breakfast with another person, whose identity has not been made public due to security reasons.
