León regained the lead of the Mexican soccer Apertura tournament with a sound beating of America, with a score of 3-0, opening the 11 date with a goal from Argentinean Mauro Boselli.

The locals got the lead in the first half with scores by Boselli, 23 minutes into the game, and Luis Montes, on the 60.

America played most of the second half after the expulsion of Argentinean Rubens Sambueza on the 54.

With their fifth consecutive victory as locals, León healed last weekend's wound after losing by 3-0 before Querétaro, and regained the lead with 24 points, two above Toluca, which defeated Xolos Tijuana by 4-1.

León, coached by Argentinean Juan Antonio Pizzi, also has three points of advantage over Pumas UNAM, which will visit Monarcas Morelia tomorrow.

America was looking to heal the wound left by its defeat last weekend, by 2-1, in the hands of Chivas Guadalajara.

Toluca, in the meantime, defeated Xolos with scores by Argentinean Enrique Triverio (39), Peruvian Christian Cave (69), Omar Arellano (80) and Carlos Esquivel (90).

The lonely score by Xolos came from Paraguayan Paulo da Silva, at 55.
