Two high officials arrested for El Chapo's escape

The former coordinator of the Federal Centers for Social Rehabilitation and the former director of "El Altiplano" prison were arrested for their alleged involvement in the escape of the drug lord.

Former coordinator of the Federal Centers for Social Rehabilitation (Ceferesos), Celina Oseguera Parra, was arrested for her alleged involvement in the escape of the drug lord Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, according to the Attorney General's Office (PGR).

Former director of "El Altiplano" prison, Valentín Cárdenas Lerma, was also arrested for the same charges.

Celina Oseguera is the highest official arrested since the escape of El Chapo. Valentín Cárdenas was Oseguera's subordinate.

Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán disappeared into a mile-long, well-ventilate tunnel under “El Altiplano” prison on July 11.  

The arrests put the total at 13 detainees so far:
