More than 30 illegal weapons of German origin were used in the attack against teachers in training of Ayotzinapa in Iguala in September last year, according to the German newspaper Tages Zeitung based on the case file of the Attorney General's Office of the State.

In a trip to Mexico German filmmaker Daniel Harrich, 32, met two teachers in training of Guerrero who took him to a police station that had weapons of German origin and were later on used in the attack against Ayotzinapa students.

Harrich then decided to take to Mexico as the stage for his fiction "Meister des Todes" (Death Mercenaries), starring Hanno Kofler and Heiner Lauterbach.

The idea sprung from a documentary by the same director that explored Germany's involvement in arms sales to different countries, such as Brazil and Somalia.

In the documentary "Weapons for the World: Export out of Control" Harrich reported the presence of G36 guns not only in Guerrero, but also in Jalisco, Chihuahua and Chiapas.
