Clashes leave one dead and four wounded in Michoacán

A number of clashes that shook the town of Antunez, in the municipality of Parácuro, Michoacán, left one killed and three wounded, according to police reports.

The first shooting was recorded near 9:00 a.m.p.m. in the main entrance to this community of the area known as Tierra Caliente.

An hour later, another shooting took place near the main square, then it stopped for a few moments and returned for 45 minutes, leaving three unidentified people wounded. Another unidentified individual, who according to the authorities participated in the shootings, was killed.

Hours before, Jesús Barragán, commander of the Rural Forces in Uruapan, was shot by armed individuals in an apparent direct attack, according to the state representation of the Office of the Attorney General.

Barragán is reported as in serious condition and is under heavy guard in a local hospital.
