Trump leads Republicans; Hillary loses ground: Poll

According to a FOX News survey, Trump has 25% of the preferences of the Republican voters, followed by Ben Carson with 12 % and Ted Cruz with 10%.

Two weeks after the first Republican debate Donald Trump is leading in the preferences of the Republican voters, while Hillary Clinton is losing ground, but keeps the front among Democrats.

According to a new survey by television station FOX News two of the three "novices" in politics dominate the Republican field, with Trump in the lead with 25% of the preferences, followed by neurosurgeon Ben Carson with 12%.

Carson, who gained five points after the debate last August 6 is closely followed by Texas Senator Ted Cruz, with 10%.

The former governor of Florida, Jeb Bush, was relegated to the fourth position with 9%, after losing six points from the previous survey.

Both Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and the former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, were tied in the fifth position with six points.

Former CEO of Hewlett-Packard Carly Fiorina got 5%, after a three-point gain from the debate.

In the Democrat field, Clinton remained at the head of the preferences with a comfortable advantage over independent Senator Bernie Sanders, who has been steadily gaining ground in recent weeks, according to the survey.

Clinton appeared this time with a support of 49% followed closely by Sanders with 30, although two weeks ago the former secretary of State maintained an advantage of 29 percentage points.
