Decio de María officially began today his mandate as the new president of the Mexican Soccer Federation (FMF) as successor of Justino Compeán.
Compeán will be the honorary president during the celebration of the FIFA Congress next year.
"Decio de María Serrano takes the helm of a federation in constant growth, with the vision of positioning Mexican soccer in the highest spheres of international soccer," informed the FMF.
De María Serrano announced last week the removal of Miguel Herrera as coach of the Mexican national soccer team and now faces the decision of electing the new leader of 'El Tri'.
Decio also faces other challenges, like taking 'El Tri' to the Confederations Cup tournament, to be held in Russia in 2017, with a victory in the game against the U.S. in October.
