Police operation launched in Condesa neighborhood

Mexico City Public Security Department launched a special operation called "Zero Risk" in Condesa neighborhood aimed at further reducing the crime rate in the area.

After EL UNIVERSAL published a story about the alleged payment of extortion fees to criminal gangs, Hiram Almeida, head of Mexico City Public Security Department, (SSP-DF), said that no complaints have been filed so far, but urged the victims to denounce the crime.

Over 120 policemen will monitor the streets and parks of the neighborhood 24 hours a day.
