It was an extremely bumpy game, with four players expelled from the field, but Cruz Azul finally managed to actually become champions in some tournament, with a score of 2-0 over Rayados Monterrey, in the Copa Socio MX held in the Cotton Bowl.

Lucas Silva scored eight minutes into the game, and Joao Rojas added the second goal at 74 when Cruz Azul had the numerical advantage in the match.

Rayados tried to connect with long shots by Colombian Dorlan Pabón, who was well guarded and unable to penetrate the goal line defended by Guillermo Allison.

The game had a few incidents, like the beginning of a fight between Christian Giménez and Pablo Barrera, which did not become something to regret in the end,

But the players fell into the dirty game routine on the second half, and a series of actions by Luis Pérez, Jesús Zavala and Pabón, for Monterrey, and Emmanuel Loeschbor, for Cruz Azul, had them penalized and expelled from the game.
