Tropical Storm Guillermo strengthened this morning into a Category 1 hurricane, without affecting Mexico, the National Weather Service (SMN) reported.
The National Water Commission (Conagua) explained that the hurricane is located 2,605 kilometers (1,618 miles) west-southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.
Conagua explained that Guillermo is moving west-northwest at a speed of 27 km/h (about 17 mph) with sustained winds of 150 km/h (93 mph) and gusts of 185 km/h (115 mph).
