American actor Leonardo DiCaprio could be one of the lead roles in the big screen adaptation of "The Cartel" written by Don Winslow based on Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.
Deadline reported that the 40-year-old actor is being courted to portray DEA agent Art Keller.
"The Cartel" narrates how Keller battled with Mexican drug kingpin Adan Berrera.
Keller and Berrera were former friends whose paths deviated when the former worked for the police, while the latter joined the Sonora drug cartel.
The film will be directed by Ridley Scott and produced by Fox.
