Survey: 55% think that Mexico shouldn't have been in the Gold Cup final

A survey conducted by EL UNIVERSAL revealed that 55% of the participants think that Mexico's participation in the final is not fair.

Mexico reached the final of the Gold Cup thanks to the aid received from referees throughout the tournament, soccer fans surveyed by EL UNIVERSAL said.

The survey revealed that 55% of the participants think that Mexico's participation in the final is not fair.

On Wednesday Mexico tied with Panama in the last minute with a penalty shot that even the Mexican team admitted was unjustified, and then won by 2-1 in extra time, getting the pass to the finals.

"I did not cheat. I know it was not a penalty, but it is not my fault," coach Miguel Herrera said after the controversy surrounding the match.

Also, 70% of the participants did not like Mexico's performance in the tournament, while 48% said that "El Piojo", as Herrera is better known, should continue to manage Mexico's national soccer team.

Mexico plays today against Jamaica, that has recorded their greatest ever Gold Cup performance by making the final.
