The Federal authorities are increasing the actions in order to capture  Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán Loera through an information exchange and joint actions with the public security offices of the 31 states and Mexico City.

The Minister of the Interior, Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, had a private meeting with the Mayor of Mexico City, Miguel Ángel Mancera, and one of the subjects they spoke about was the security question according to sources.

A week after the kingpin's escape, for whom the authorities are offering a USS3.9 million reward for information leading to his capture, the Minister of the Interior reported that the heads and representatives of the states' security systems met with the National Security Commissioner, Monte Alejandro Rubido García. The general commissioner of the Federal Police, Enrique Francisco Galindo Ceballos, and the technical secretary of the National Conference of Public Security Secretaries, Fernando Schütte Elguero, also participated in the meeting.

Federal Police sources said that the security operation is held in the entire nation, but will have a greater emphasis in the central area, Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla and Tlaxcala, because after the escape alert the borders between the states have been sealed.

For that reason, the authorities doubt that he has been able to leave the central area of the country and could be hidden in any of the states in the area.

They added that there is a special coordination with the authorities in the states of Sonora, Sinaloa and Nayarit, due to the discovery of an operational structure of the Sinaloa Cartel in the area, that could be useful for "El Chapo".
