FCA Mexico signs agreement to purchase wind power from 252-MW Ventika

FCA Mexico said that the deal will cover 42% of the energy needs at its manufacturing plants in the states of Mexico and Coahuila and 86% at its corporate buildings, offsetting 140,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalent per year.

FCA Mexico, part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, signed an agreement with Ventika to purchase over 200 GWh a year from the 252-MW Ventika wind park of Fisterra Energy.

The project called Ventika, which is developed by CEMEX Energía and located in the state of Nuevo León, will be in operation from the second quarter of 2016.

In a press release, FCA Mexico noted that the deal will cover 42% of the energy needs at its manufacturing plants in the states of Mexico and Coahuila and 86% at its corporate buildings, offsetting 140,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalent per year.
