A man carrying over 19 kilos of cocaine (about 40 pounds) was arrested by the Federal Police at the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM).
The National Commission on Security (CNS) reported that the incident occurred in the boarding gates of Terminal 1, when the luggage of a Mexican passenger coming from Bogota, Colombia, showed irregularities when passing through X-rays.
Eight plastic bags containing a white powder were found in his luggage.
The corresponding tests were conducted by authorities, which confirmed it was cocaine.
The 56-year-old man was arrested and made available to the authorities.
