The National Security Commission reported that 700 agents were deployed for the operation of security and surveillance around a pipeline which runs through the municipalities of Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, and Cadereyta de Jiménez, Nuevo León, as part of the coordinated actions with Pemex in order to suppress the theft of fuel.
Through a statement, it said that the pipeline is one of the most important north of the country, and in recent times it has been violated by criminal groups.
The announcement indicated that the police would work in the pipeline security through its divisions of Gendarmerie, intelligence, Federal forces and Regional Security starting on July 11.
The monitoring will be implemented over 300 miles of pipeline.
