A helicopter of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had to make an emergency landing in Texas after being fired from the Mexican side of the border, according to police sources.

The spokesperson of the Laredo police, Joe Baeza, indicated that the helicopter was fired upon from the Mexican side, although there are no reports about the bullets reaching their target.

Sources of the ICE indicated that the helicopter landed in Laredo without any wounded, but also did not confirm if the aircraft had been hit.

The helicopter was keeping watch against the usual traffic of drugs and people, and sometimes shots are heard during the flight, but it is less common to have them directed against agents or security vehicles.
