Hurricane Blanca weakened to a category 1 storm, according to the head of the National Civil Protection Department, Luis Felipe Puente.
Blanca, which formed Monday, was located about 3,300 miles southeast of Kailua-Kona and 380 miles south-southwest of Zihuatanejo, Mexico.
The storm is now located 535 kilometers (332 miles) southwest of Manzanillo, Colima, and 880 kilometers (546 miles) south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas in Baja California Sur.
The National Water Commission (Conagua), added that Blanca has maximum sustained winds of 150km / h (93 mph) and gusts of 185km / h (115 mph)
Also, the National Weather Service (SMN) reported that a weather surveillance zone has been established from La Paz to Santa Fe, including Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur due to the tropical storm winds.
