Mexico's former President Felipe Calderón thanked the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, for declaring him 'persona non grata'.

"I thank @NicolasMaduro for declaring me persona non grata. "Coming from him, it is an honor. Being welcome by a despot would be worrisome," Calderón wrote on Twitter.

Yesterday Venezuela's Congress declared Calderón "persona non grata" after his "aggressive" message against the Venezuelan soccer team on Sunday.

"What a shame, what a dirty game from the Venezuelan team. They seem trained by Maduro...", the former president wrote.

The Venezuelan team defeated Colombia 1-0 in their debut in the Copa America played in Chile.
