In the last 24 hours the seismic records of the surveillance system of the Popocatépetl volcano registered 110 low-intensity exhalations, some of them accompanied by steam, gas and ash.

Also nine explotions were recorded at 1:26 p.m. Sunday, and 4:26, 4:27, 5:52, 6:36, 7:41, 8:14, 8:47 and 9:40 a.m. Monday, with 75 minutes of harmonic tremors.

Overnight some slight incandescence was observed over the crater, increasing with some of the major exhalations.

The National Disaster Prevention Center also emphasized that people should not go near the volcano, especially close to the crater, due to the hazard presented by ballistic fragments of molten rock.
