494 people have been kidnapped this year

Renato Sales Heredia, National Anti-Kidnapping Coordinator, said that 99 of the victims remain in captivity.

Renato Sales Heredia, National Anti-Kidnapping Coordinator, said that 494 people have been kidnapped this year and that 99 of them remain in captivity.

 

In a radio interview with Ciro Gómez Leyva, Sales explained that 18 of the victims were killed and added that over 65 percent of the kidnappings last less than 10 days.

According to Sales 1,838 people were kidnapped in 2014 and around 253 of them were not released.
